Juan Manuel Ramirez, 71, of Danbury, CT, passed away on March 9, 2022.
Juan was born August 22,1950 to Juan and Graciela Ramirez in Cartago, Colombia, the oldest of 2 sons and 1 daughter.
In high school in Colombia is where he met his sweetheart, Nelly. They wed on April 1st, 1967, going on to have 7 children, Juan Fernando, Sandra, Jacqueline, Edward, Jeffrey, Johnny and Jessica.
Juan worked at Life Savers in Port Chester for 12 years. Then he worked for 20 years as a Maintenance Service Operations Supervisor in Yorktown Heights, NY.
Juan and his wife, Nelly came to the United States in 1970. They bought their first home in Port Chester, NY in 1976 and there they raised their 7 children for 25 years until they bought their home in Danbury, CT in 1997 where they lived for 25 years.
Juan was a force of nature, committed to provide for his beautiful and large family. His family was his pride and joy. When his children were young, they would travel to numerous campgrounds in their RV. They would go as far as Orlando FL and Canada.
Juan was a very funny man and loved to play pranks on most people he came in contact with, from his family and friends to nurses at his appointments. He loved telling and listening to jokes. Aside from his humor he had much knowledge to share, especially about home improvement ideas. He was quite the handyman. Another fascination of his was reading about UFO’s, Condorito, also watching Tom and Jerry and Scooby Doo. He was a passionate WWE fan and could be found weekly watching Monday Night Raw.
Anyone who knew Juan knew that he was a very strong loving husband and father that always provided for his family.
Juan is predeceased by his father, mother, and son Johnny. He is survived by his wife Nelly Ramirez; children Juan, Sandra Garcia (Oswaldo), Jacqueline Smith (William), Edward Ramirez (Keri), Jeffrey Ramirez (Anna), Jessica Almonte (Juan Pablo); grandchildren, Crystal, Oswaldo, Juan, Priscilla, William, Christopher, Dylan, Sabrina, Isabella, Mateo, Madison, Katelyn, Aubrie, Mason, Peyton, Xavier, Charlie; great granddaughter, Caroline; siblings Gloria and Miguel; and nieces, nephews, family and friends. He will be tremendously missed by all.
There will be a visitation on Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 5pm to 8pm at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Ave, Stamford, CT. There will be a funeral mass on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 11 am at St. Mary’s Church, 566 Elm St, Stamford, CT
